About HydroCoil Power, Inc.

The idea surfaced after thinking about the 1990's movie "The Hunt for Red October", a must-see.  As you have read in the prior pages, the HydroCoil Turbine generates electricity via its consecutive, narrowing coils that extract energy along an infinitely thin series of planes.  Those coils sequentially decelerate water flowing through--but while the design conserves mass, it helps reclaim velocity.  The outer cylinder plays a key role in focusing water and containing the pressure and energy dynamics, avoiding lateral dissipation of water to the side during throughput.

HydroCoil [R] Power has developed the intriguing science behind Ribbon Drive technology, and its intrinsic appeal has been confirmed as a new turbine for low head hydropower generation--demonstrated, tested, and certified in April 2009.

Inquiries have come in from Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, India, Bangladesh, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Africa, the U.K., Bosnia-Herzegovina, Russia, China, Canada, and from Hawaii and Alaska to Maine.

We acknowledge with thanks the support of our proof-of-concept efforts,
enabled by an R&D grant from Ben Franklin Technology Partners  (
www.sep.benfranklin.org ) and by collaboration at three universities  ( www.drexel.edu , www.villanova.edu , and www.cooperunion.edu ).
HydroCoil Power is pleased to be the first client in the Fairleigh Dickinson University incubator for sustainable enterprise. (
www.fdu.edu ).

A feature in the June 2003 issue of Popular Mechanics [tm] "TechWatch" [c] section, p. 24.  initiated public awareness and applications of Ribbon Drive helical vane technology in the United States and abroad.  That September a related article appeared in www.kijk.com.nl
("Look", p. 11), a science magazine of the Netherlands.

A history of 4 inventions, ultimately involving issuance of 17 patents to Dr. Rosefsky in the U.S.and abroad, with subsequent corporate transfer:

CHRONOLOGY

Marketing analysis for Ribbon Drive Low Head Hydroelectric
Power
[the HydroCoil turbine]:
term project, graduate course at LeBow School of Business &
Management, Drexel University.   Analysis of need for electric
power both domestic and internationally.  Recommendations by
Dr. V.K. Narayanan's class versus existing technology.

Subsequent scale model R&D and rapid prototyping at the Center for
Engineering Research,
Villanova University, Villanova, PA, was
sponsored with a grant from
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeast Pennsylvania.

Referred by engineer Bill Roberts of Chicopee, Mass. to Verdant
Power, Inc. (
www.verdantpower.com ).  The president, Trey Taylor,
kindly introduced us to Cooper Union University in NYC, for study
by the engineering research dept.

HydroCoil Power, Inc. was
founded in 2006 as a separate entity by
Jonathan B. Rosefsky, M.D., now Chairman and CTO.  HydroCoil
Power became the patentholder for the turbine power generation
technology:
--2 domestic plus international patents received.  The HPG patents
are registered USPTO #6,357,997 and #6,626,638 plus a
new one pending [filed July 2009].

From 2007-2009, those 2 years have encompassed:
--recruiting and building a talented management team
--market analysis, followed by marketable business plan
--construction and certified testing of a prototype that performed
beyond expectations
--rapid prototyping achieved through the engineering design,
assembly, and testing capabilities of 3-D Technologies
( http://mywebpages.comcast.net/3dtech ).
--negotiating partnering with alternative energy companies,
engineering and installation firms ( www.adventdesign.com ,
www.pmkgroup.com ), renewable energy consultants/installers
(such as
www.metroenergysolutions.com ).
--identifying potential manufacturing partners including
www.quickparts.com , www.zerohourparts.com , and www.aaglobalind.com .

January 2008--introduced at a news conference, Company became
the first client of the Institute for Sustainable Enterprise (ISE) at
Fairleigh Dickinson University (
www.fdu.edu  ) in Madison, New
Jersey. Jonathan Cloud, director, has lobbied for hydropower
recognition and initiatives with the New Jersey state agencies
and legislature.

Subsequent news coverage
in
www.njentrepreneur.org ,
www.njbiz.org , The New York Times
(
www.nytimes.com/2008/06/29/nyregion/nyregionspecial2/29hydronj.html ),
and several noted community newspapers (see News page).

Summer 2008--prototype demonstrated 3 times, with consistent
results; helical turbine vanes spun up quickly to 600-1200 rpm,
connected to a standard automobile alternator rotating at its
recommended range.

Fall 2008 - summer 2009:
--Product improvements and testing.
--Met with the principals of
www.jagreenandco.com and
www.smartpr.net for possible strategy and guidance.
--Distributorship agreement for southeast Asia with Henry Abbott, of
www.pacrimx.com/associates .
--Exhibited at an Energy Security conference in Washington, DC thanks to
Bill Holmberg of ACORE ( www.acore.org ).
--learned about emergency preparedness through faculty at the
National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.
--introduced to the U.S. Department of State's CNAT initiative with
distributed electric power and the PRI program for rural Afghanistan .
--Richard J. DeLuca of Delta Planning Partners in Denville, NJ
becomes the new president of HydroCoil Power.  Business plan and
pro forma spreadsheet reformulated, for a potential global scale.
Other team members include experts in engineering, Regulatory Affairs/Marketing,
Asia marketing/distribution, and Dr. Rosefsky as Chairman & CTO.
--Robert Donaldson of Delta Planning, and co-founder of the Venture
Association of New Jersey (VANJ tm) and the Ohio Venture Association, is appointed interim CFO of HydroCoil Power.

April 2009--modifications and upgrades to the fully operational prototype concluded with certified demonstration tests.
Data results are nearly double the expectations, prior to optimizing for commercialization.

October 2009--invited by faculty at the National Defense University to exhibit with the Star-TIDES exposition at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C., and the following week inside the Pentagon.  Visitors expressed Interest in the portability, simplicity and quick deployment of the HydroCoil turbine.
